My stories about music and culture have appeared in The New York Times, The Economist, TIME Magazine, San Francisco Weekly, KQED, The Atlantic, Mother Jones Magazine, GRAMMY.com, Reasons To Be Cheerful, Newsweek, Spin, and other publications.

I teach journalism at San Jose State University's School of Journalism and Mass Communications and I edit early-career journalists through The California Local News Fellowship program at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism. I teach a journalism program in the San Francisco Unified School District.

I play trumpet and keys in RADIO VELOSO.
